Medical Aesthetician

The Medical Aesthetician Program at the Florida Academy of Medical Aesthetics (FAMA) is a single, continuous curriculum that unites two essential learning stages: foundational skincare training and advanced medical‑level aesthetics. Students first complete the comprehensive Track One, meeting Florida’s 280 hour requirement to earn the Facial Specialist license.

Immediately afterward, they transition without leaving the program into Track Two, where they master clinical procedures such as nano‑needling, dermaplaning, laser fundamentals, and phlebotomy. By graduation, you hold one professional license (Facial Specialist) and one advanced certification (Medical Aesthetician), positioning you for high‑demand roles in medical spas, dermatology practices, and surgical clinics.

Most schools separate licensure and advanced aesthetic coursework, forcing students to enroll twice. FAMA integrates both into a seamless journey: we handle every requirement from basic facial protocols to medical grade treatments under one enrollment, one tuition plan, and one mentoring team. You learn in our fully equipped medical clinic, practicing on real patients with guidance from board‑certified and nurse practitioners. Small cohorts, in‑depth regulatory training, and business modules ensure you graduate not only with technical mastery but also with the confidence to thrive in a clinical setting.

  •

If you complete the program on‑campus, you also receive National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Phlebotomy Certification and a Beauty as a Business (BaaB) Marketing credential. MEDICAL AESTHETICIAN

Medical Aeshetician Certification Process

How It Works?

Your journey begins with 280 hours of Track One study covering facial techniques, infection control, skin physiology, Florida law, and state licensure preparation. FAMA records your hours, administers practical exams, and submits your application to the Florida Board of Cosmetology. Once licensed, you advance directly into the Medical Aesthetician module for four intensive weeks (only mondays) on‑campus or a six‑month self paced online path where you train in advanced treatments, clinical documentation, OSHA/HIPAA compliance, and phlebotomy. FAMA guides every step, ensuring all state and national documentation is complete before you sit for final certification assessments.

We’ll guide you every step of the way from registration,
exam prep, to certification.

What Will You Learn in the

Medical Aesthetician Licensure Program?

First, you acquire a solid base in facial treatments, skin histology, chemical peels, facial machines, and Florida law. Then, you progress to nano‑needling for serum infusion, advanced chemical peels for acne and hyperpigmentation, dermaplaning for exfoliation, laser fundamentals for fractional resurfacing and hair reduction, PRP integration for regenerative therapies, and post‑surgical skincare support. Throughout, you refine consultation skills, develop treatment planning acumen, and practice phlebotomy for clinical applications.
