ONE TAP ATTENDANCE APP
STUDENT GUIDE

How It Works

OneTap records your attendance and tracks your hours. Scan the QR at the start and end of every class—no scan, no credit. This ensures your attendance, progress, and eligibility (grades, certificates) stay accurate.

Teacher Use

Teachers display a unique QR code at the start (first 5–10 minutes) and end of class. In online classes, QR codes are shared on screen; late joiners may request it privately.

In-Person Attendance

Scan the QR with your phone’s camera as you enter. Type your name and tap Check-In. At the end of class, scan the closing QR and tap Check-Out.

Online Attendance

At the start (first 5 minutes), scan the QR your teacher displays. Enter your name → tap Check-In. At the end, scan the closing QR → tap Check-Out.

Important Rules

  • Do not create an account—just scan, enter your name, and confirm.
  • Both Check-In and Check-Out are required for attendance to count.

Quick Troubleshooting

  • Can’t scan? Move closer, brighten your screen, or ask to enlarge/re-project the QR.
  • Name not found? Search by last name; if still missing, notify your teacher or Student Services.
  • Missed the start window? Ask your teacher to briefly re-project or send the QR image.

Terms of Use

  • Purpose: OneTap is for recording class attendance via teacher-provided QR codes.
  • Responsibility: Students must check in and out each class. Missed scans = unexcused absence.
  • Proper Use: Do not manipulate or share QR links. Misuse may result in disciplinary action.
  •

Student Policy (OneTap)

This policy governs how students record attendance using OneTap for all classes (in-person and online).

No account needed. Students do not create a OneTap account.

Check-in and check-out are both required for attendance to count.

Use your legal name as listed on school records.

QR is projected during the first 5 minutes of class.

Open the OneTap app → scan the QR → search your name → tap Check-In.

Late arrival: Ask the teacher in person for today’s QR image to check in (image only; never a link).

Check-Out: At the end of class, scan the projected QR again and tap Check-Out.

Teacher shows the QR during the first 5 minutes.

Scan the QR from your screen → search your name → tap Check-In.

Late joiners: Message the teacher directly to request today’s QR image (image only; never a link).

Check-Out: At the end, scan again and tap Check-Out.

Do not request or share QR links. Only the QR image is valid.

Do not scan for someone else or let others scan for you.

Do not manipulate devices, screenshots, timestamps, or names to falsify attendance.

If you cannot scan: move closer, increase brightness, or ask the teacher to enlarge/re-project the QR.

If your name is missing/wrong, notify the teacher before class ends and contact Student Services.

Report persistent app/device issues to [email protected].

Students requiring accommodations should contact Student Services in advance. Reasonable alternatives will be provided.

Attendance records (check-in/out times, class, and device scan events) are stored per school policy.

Students may view their attendance report in OneTap or request it from Student Services.

Violations may result in: warning, attendance invalidation, and/or disciplinary action under school policy.

Repeated or serious violations (e.g., proxy scans) may lead to escalated sanctions.

By attending class and scanning QR codes, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.
